Sampler Anthology 909 is an extensive sound library that brings the sound of old hardware samplers to the most popular drum machine of all time: the Roland TR909. In this collection we have recorded the drums with some of the most legendary samplers – and each sampler bring a unique coloration to the sound. The library is built on ten different drum kits, that was sampled with ten different samplers. To really capture the essence of each sampler, each kit and sampler were sampled in up to nine variations – with different sample rates and input volume to recreate the sound of old converters crunching up the sound. Algorhythms 02 is a collection of over 480 carefully programmed synth drums, collated into 20 electronic kits (with a further 3 bonus cinematic kits) for Kontakt, WAV, Battery 3/4 and Geist formats. The sounds have been designed using some of my favourite softsynths (including Zebra, Diva, Massive, Bazille and FM8) and then processed with my favourite software plug-ins from magesy download the likes of UAD, Kush Audio, FabFilter, Native Instruments and Sonnox. Designed with a dark, crunchy and punchy vibe in mind, Algorhythms 02 features deep kicks, driving snares, dirty claps, crisp hats and eclectic noises; as well as analogue-modelled ethnic drum sounds, cinematic hits and synth impacts in the bonus kits.

Created by Mr Hoodie from magesy download The Groove Criminals, the samples include a comprehensive selection of drum hits, hats, percussion, stabs and noise alongside breakbeats and melodic instrument loops. The story behind Classic Hip Hop is a boombap romcom: a rose-tinted first love affair… with shell toes and beats. The samples reflect a purist ethos developed by years of painstaking dedication to the culture. Sounds are sampled through legendary 12-bit samplers for the right amount of grit, while an extensive collection of classic synths and drum machines was also used to create the raw material. Live musicians were recorded to tape, processed through ancient samplers or pressed onto dubplates and sampled back.

The Casio MT40 looks like a typical 80s home keyboard, however it has a remarkable history. It was used to create a song called Under Mi Sleng Teng… which kicked off the digital Dancehall revolution. The rock drum preset and bass accompaniment are unmistakable and have been used numerous times since. The MT40 drums are lofi but surprisingly punchy. The Bass is warm and fuzzy and very distinctive. The keyboard instruments are based on 2 mixed variable pulse square waves, with digital envelopes and a low pass filter. I have given this famous little keyboard the treatment. Using a studio full of tasty analog hardware to sample all the drum sounds as single drum hits and loops ( Rex, Apple and Wav). I have also sampled the bass sound with 4 different signal chains and lastly I multi-sampled 16 of the keyboard tones.
