TrapKit is a vintage 1960’s Ludwig drum set recorded in a large reflective room with a vast array of microphones. This sample set includes the original Ludwig Kick Drum, Rack and Floor Toms along with a well matched Snare drum, Zildjian Hi-Hats, Sabian Crash Cymbal and hand-hammered Zildjian Ride Cymbal. All drums and cymbals were recorded with various articulations using both close mics and overhead mics. Multi-channel mixing, and non-repetitive sample triggering make TrapKit an extremely realistic and thoroughly musical sample set.

The mothership of Casio synthesis, the CZ-1 was a remarkable piece of technology in its day, emulated by other leading synthesizer manufacturers. Casio’s CZ line of Phase Distortion synthesizers are incredibly unique devices that used digital synthesis without a filter as opposed to traditional analog subtractive synthesis with a filter. The CZ line used phase distortion to somewhat simulate an analog filter, it had in total eight different waveforms: as well as the standard sawtooth, square, and pulse waveforms, it had a special double sine waveform, a half-sine waveform, and three waveforms with simulated filter resonance: resonant sawtooth, triangle, and trapezoidal waveforms.

We sampled all strings in four velocity layers, with four round robins and numerous glissandi effects. Our patch for Kontakt 3+ includes tremolo and arpeggio controls for beautiful picked paterns.
The instrument’s range is three octaves.

An odyssey in space and sound. Built with responses generated from magesy download legendary space simulation equipment. Beautiful crystal spheres, metallic resonating worlds, shimmering subterranean civilizations? Infinite Spaces is an adventure in stereo and an odyssey in sonic textures. It is a sound design toolbox for film scoring, atmosphere creation, suspense building or anything else that requires a treatment of richly detailed spaces. Sound designers triggered an Eventide H3500, Lexicon PCM 90, Lexicon PCM 80 and a Kyma Sound Design Computer with white and pink noise impulses, creating feedback loops and huge, reverberating sonic spheres. The results were recorded, phase tweaked and programmed for Ableton Live.
