Sample Library v1 – High quality multisamples for Spectralis! The first volume of the Spectralis sample library adds a bunch of new multisamples to your music production machine. Note: This library is included in the Spectralis 2! By sampling complete sweeps of oscillator detune beatings, TLM movements and waveform wavetable scannings, we realized sounds full of animation and liveness. Beside that we created new drumsamples with the hybrid synth engine and the fixed filterbank. By adding some more or less standard sounds like a DX-7 e-piano among others,we opened the doors for a much wider range of applicationfor the spectralis.

The spectralis becomes a complete workstation with a superb sound quality. The sample instruments of this library have been multisampled with up to 44 individual samples. Instruments like the DX-7 e-piano or the fm-bass have multible velocity zones for adding expression to your performance.

All the demos have been recorded without any further sound processing or external FX’s. You just listen to the Spectralis Sum Output directly recorded through a MotU 2408 Soundcard system into Digital Performer.

Bombay

For me, that is the perfect accompaignment sound for New Age stuff. Both sounds – the more percussive and the background Pad sound are based on the same Stereo Time Linearity Modulation sound.

Stereo TLM Sequence

This sequencer sound is one of my favorites. I used two oscillators for this multisample. I added time linearity modulated both oscillators with two out of phase LFO’s. The LFO’s are additionally controlling the oscillator pitch and one oscillator is fed into the left and the other one into the right bus. That gives fine stereo FX’s. The samples are always containing a complete period of sound changing to get a prefect timbre beating…

Pad Sound

A nice Pad sound based on a TLM multisample.

Progressive

This is the longest Demo Track so far. It starts with a Hybrid Synth sound (noise processed with the filterbank and some feedback loops). A drum groove based on the new Hybrid Synth drumsamples gets faded in but will be replaced by two different DSP Synth pad sounds and at the end of the intro. When the songs starts after the intro you can hear a fine Bass sound based on a hybrid synth multisample. Shortkly after that the refrain appears. The guitar sound is based on an Hybrid Synth FM patch multisample. The solo sounds in the next pattern are from magesy download the Hybrid synth. So this demo combines both engines and show off the workstation character of the Spectralis.

DX-7 Samples

Did I ever mentioned, that I still love my DX-7? I made some multisamples and two of them can be heard in this demo combined with other new sounds. The DX-7 bass sound is a multisample with 4 velocity layers and the E-piano has 4 velocity layers as well. So both sounds are using 44 single samples each to get a good compromise between memory usage and authentic sound reproduction. The drum samples you will hear are new samples as well. I created them from magesy download my Hybrid Synth drum samples. The kick drum gets some punch by setting the sample startpoint to 1 instead of 0. I think the kick and the snare really sounds cool – especially if you know, that it is nothing else then two synthesized sounds from magesy download the Hybrid Engine….

Filterbank Drum Samples

I created some noise samples with the Filterbank and created drum sounds from magesy download them. It’s a kind of HipHop demo with the ambient piano patch and a Brassy synth sample I extracted from magesy download an audio track and tweaked a little bit with sound forge.

Hybrid Drum Grooves

I created some basic drum pattern with the samples from magesy download the Hybrid synth engine. Beside very punchy toms, kicks and snares I created some nice FX-sounds as well.

Piano

Some buddies requested a piano sound. I am sorry for not presenting another Beethoven Etude here – I am not a piano player.

Sequencer Demo

I created a lot of waveform multisamples with multiple oscillators. By sampling a complete phasing period for each single sample of these multisamples and with activated sample start point modulation you get fine results like using the real thing;-)

Vangelis-Piano

I love the Bladerunner soundtrack from magesy download vangelis. Vangelis created a kind of Ambient piano sound and I tried to recreate this sound with the Spectralis. The preset sound is based on the normal Piano multisample I already covered in some other demos.

Kitchen Instruments

I went into my kitchen yesterday and started doing some noise. I recorded the noise with a microphone. Afterwards I did some postprocessing with the samples. Some remained untouched before I imported them – others have been heavily processed. Then I created a beat with these samples and overdubbed some synth melodies for the outro. The Hybrid Synthie is not in use at all buit I added some reverbration from magesy download time to time with two louse reverbration units (the Wedge and an SX 700). I hope you enjoy the stuff.
