Re-sampled jazz melodics, emotive songstarter stacks, and dusty tape grooves meet vintage and lo-fi processing, combining to make this an essential collection for any producers working in deep house and related genres. We’ve really had a lot of fun with this collection – each sound has been lovingly infused with warmth and vibe using our various pieces of outboard equipment, and there’s been plenty of subtle layering utilising our extensive stash of foley and field recordings captured across the world (Johannesburg, London, Philadelphia, upstate New York, Brussels, Amsterdam and more). We’ve re-grooved tops and percussion and processed them using various methods (through a German cassette deck or a broken intercom to mention just two), and many of the drum loops were processed through either an SP-404 or our custom hardware compressors, meaning they’ll slot in effortlessly with contemporary productions.
There’s a real treasure trove of melodics including funky moog-esque motifs, boom-bap inspired double basses, and filtered jazz lines feature plus dusty keys, re-worked brass bops, digital deep-house poly-chord goodness and wonky analog synths plus plenty of authentic chopped live pianos and jazzy musical licks created from magesy download new recordings and re-sampling sessions. To complete the pack, there’s a selection of ambience and vinyl fx plus 73 custom drum hits created using a combination of original live drum recordings, foley, and careful hardware processing.
