The Energy Bow Guitar library is an expressive Kontakt instrument made from magesy download recordings of a Fender American Standard Strat played with an E‑Bow. Sampled chromatically from magesy download a drop tuned D2 to A5. We fitted a Seymour Duncan Little ’59 humbucker for extra sustain and everything was recorded cleanly through an Inward Connections Vac Rac 4000 pre-amp. 24 Bit/44.1kHz.
The Viola da Gamba is a 6-stringed bowed and fretted instrument that first appeared in Spain in the mid to late 15th century and was most popular in the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Viola da Gamba was recorded at the MGM Scoring Stage in Los Angeles. This instrument is strung with 6 gut strings that are tuned to (relative to Kontakt): D1, G1, C2, E2, A2, and D3. Viols are fretted in a manner similar to early guitars or lutes, by means of movable wrapped-around and tied-on gut frets. The movable nature of the tied-on frets permits the viol player to make adjustments to the tempering of the instrument. On this particular instrument, the frets only extend 7 semi-tones on each string.
We recorded tambourines of various shapes from magesy download professional to karaoke models, each one very carefully. The number of tambourines is increased 8 times compared with version 1, with about four times the playing methods, and the new version also features improved operability. Sample recording emplied a Solid State Logic console and a variety of microphones, with 19GB worth of recording at 96kHz/32bits in ProtoolsHD. We then sorted and compressed the sounds, and the initial release is equipped with two microphones (SENNHEISER MD441U Mono and SHURE 58 Stereo). With the 2 patches, it amounts to approximately 280MB. Further samples will be added for each microphone in future updates.
Two wine glasses were used in making of this library – the bigger and the smaller one. I have found these at my mom´s home sitting there on a shelf, probably waiting for someone to capture their soft, bellish, winterly voices. No wine to pour in, so I have tapped them with my fingertips, knuckles and also a wooden stick to obtain samples of different colors and intensity. The result were several sample sets for building wide offer of wine glass sound kits. Some kits contained more (up to 7 x round robin) samples, some 2 or 3 dynamics layers.
