There is no classic limiter like the UREI/Teletronix/Universal Audio 1176, and no studio expert to explain the Universal Audio UAD 1176 limiter collection to you like Brock Jon! Beginning with a historical look at why the 1176 series limiters are so coveted by audio pros worldwide, Brock gives you an overview of the three emulations in this collection. Next, he dives right into how to set the input and output of the emulations using the vintage style VU meters. After that, Brock explores the rest of the main controls of the 1176 including the Attack, Release, and Ratio Controls, as well as the infamous “All-Buttons” Mode. Moving on, Brock gets into practical applications of the 1176 limiter collection. Using copious audio examples, he shows you how to apply the different 1176 emulations to Drums, Guitars, and Vocals, and even shows you how to build the classic vocal chain: the UAD 1176 emulation into a UAD LA-2A emulation. Finally, he applies the Fairchild Compressor to the Master Buss.
