This release features live recorded sax in various keys. There are 53 licks and solos recorded either on a Yamaha YTS-23 alto sax or a Yanagisawa 990u tenor sax. Wareham and the Originals team set out to achieve the arrangement sound of the legendary Memphis soul record label, Stax—home to Otis Redding, Booker T. & the MGs, and Isaac Hayes—to name a few. Wareham layered a baritone, alto, and tenor sax in addition to his trumpet to get this vibe.
