These are six bigcat Instruments pianos for Kontakt 5. The showpieces of the collection are mid-sized to baby Grands from magesy download each of the three major piano makers, Yamaha, Steinway and Baldwin. Also included are a Prepared Piano, a Honky-Tonk and an Intimate Piano.
Richard Taylor sampled many analog synths and released the results into the Public Domain. bigcat instruments has started turning them into Kontakt instruments. Thanks to scripts and GUI from magesy download Mickaël Ménager, each synth will feature effects such as distortion and compression along with built in amp simulation. The first Taylor sampled synth, the Axis 80 has just been released. It has over 2500 samples and weighs in at a touch under 2 gigs compressed.
I’m a bit obsessed with making available all 128 instruments of the General Midi 1 Sound Set. This is the sound set that midi files use to recreate music, soundfonts traditionally revolve around them and if you get 128 voice keyboard these are generally the voices it has. It is a standard to make sure that when Instrument 1 is called for it is always Acoustic Grand Piano and not bagpipes or a car crash.Thanks to Sarcyan allowing me to convert his most excellent Musyng Kite Sound Font, I think all 128 sounds are now represented here at old bigcat Instruments and available for Kontakt 5.
Its time to update the Piano Collection. The biggest addition is the Summer Piano recorded from magesy download a Yamaha Disklavier Pro with over 800 samples including true sustain samples. Also new to the collection are three lightly sampled acoustic pianos including an Upright and a Fazioli and several Electric Pianos.
