This second volume takes another ten classic drum machines (Linn Drum, CR-78, TR-626, DDR-30, Bohm, DR-55, RPM-40, RX-5, KPR-77 and the Synsonics Pro) and three vintage tape machines Ampex valve 1/2 inch 2 track, Otari MX5050 1/4 inch 2 track, Teac A-350 Cassette Deck and the Hitachi 3 head Cassette deck to play, record and sample each hit. There’s also a bonus set of 36 CR-78 Rex Loops which have also been given the Goldbaby tape treatment.

Lots of brush snare hits, swirls, taps, strokes as well as brush toms and brush cymbals. The cymbals are stereo to give a rich overall ambience. Multi velocity snares and toms (separate samples for soft and loud hits) for the utmost in dynamic realism. Boston studio musician Jeff Allison, also a sound engineer for Kurzweil Music Systems described these as “some of the nicest drum samples I’ve heard in a really long time. These are great.”
