CAS deliver their follow up Kontakt instrument for vocals. It comes with 4 banks (Characteristics) of vocal phrases which you can put together as you please. Moreover the vocals can be manipulated in sound by tuning, formant shifting and adjusting the speed and each vocal’s starting point can be set seperately. Last but not least 4 effects (Reverb, Stereo Widener, Chorus, Delay) can be applied and adjusted. If you for any reason don’t want to use Kontakt you can directly work with the vocals by going to the specific folders. It is an effect that is not always sounds too obvious, but when taken away, it’s surely will be missed. A compressor will suppress the loudest part of incoming audio signal, based on the specified threshold. Following the ‘compression’, it will increase the softer signal, narrowing the dynamic range thus delivers a more consistent overall level. For the past 10 years or so I’ve always carried some kind of portable recording device and a pair of OKM in ear microphones around with me and kept a kind of aural diary of great magesy torrent sounding things and great magesy torrent sounding places. I’ve made literally gazillions of recordings in places all over this side of the world, and like most diaries these recordings have mainly been sitting in dark cupboards waiting for someone to rediscover them.. The Modular Chaos Engine is the perfect repository for 785 of them. I’ve selected the most usefully percussive, clangy, bangy, thumpy, boomy, itchy, scratchy, thwacky and whacky, added a really powerful sequencing engine and made a “found sound” drum machine.
