Gary Garritan took violin lessons as a child and later studied the harp as a teenager, providing the inspiration for creating GigaHarp, a sample library that helped put GigaSampler on the map in 1998. However, returning to his first instrument, Gary decided that none of the existing string libraries were good enough and resolved to create his own. The resulting achievement is an 8GB library on 16 CDs (or 2 DVDs) devoted to reproducing the performance nuances of orchestra-sized string ensembles — a vast and ground-breaking piece of work. The recording sessions took place over a two-week period at New York’s Lincoln Centre using a hand-picked team of string players with priceless instruments, including a couple of Stradivaris — the Rolls Royce of the stringed instrument world. The 47 musicians were divided into 22 violins (also split into 12 first and 10 second), 10 violas, eight cellos, and seven double basses, and were recorded using B&K, Neumann, and Crown microphones into an Apogee A/D converter at 88.2kHz/24-bit.

There is barely another instrument to combine both zeitgeist and timelessness in the way a spinet does: Despite being around for centuries already, its sound is still relevant in many musical territories, while at the same time being inextricably connected to the musical works of its time. The brilliant timbre comprises lots of majestic warmth and elegance as well – something often underestimated due to cold and sterile sounding spinet simulations of current keyboards and samplers. The English Spinet library features an instrument built by Thomas Hitchcock in London in 1718. Hitchcocks instruments are widely known as the best-sounding spinets ever built and pointed the way ahead for all spinets to come. Only about 36 of his masterpieces are preserved to this day.

Four discs jam-packed with over 2.5 Gigabytes of the finest orchestral percussion ever produced. Meticulous care went into the recording of these samples, and legendary programming makes this library more expressive than anything else available.A huge selection of instruments are here; for example 8 crash cymbals, 7 snare drums, etc. all at up to 16 stereo velocities. Many instruments also include right and left-hand samples, intelligently laid out for maximum playability. You get multiple articulations per instrument, such as rolls, glissandos, flams, scrapes and more for the most realistic simulations. Each instrument was sampled in its natural environment, the orchestra hall, and most include release samples so the amount of hall can be controlled via the mod wheel. All instruments were recorded in the classical tradition – no close mic’ing – to allow the sound to develop properly. Melodic instruments such as glockenspiel feature multiple dynamics and samples for every available pitch. Finally, there’s an orchestral percussion library for professionals!

The Orphica Piano library offers a very special little piano: Invented by Carl Leopold Rollig, the small portable piano type was exclusively built by piano maker Joseph Donal at the end of the 18th century. Produced for merely about 15 years, the Orphica remains one of the rarest pianos today – worldwide, only 30 instruments have been preserved at the very most. Inventor Rollig was reminded of the ‘Lyre of Orpheus’, so he chose the name accordingly for what happens to be a predecessor of today’s portable keyboard.

Rare Instruments is the most expressive ethnic library ever created, including up to 54 variations for some instruments on 3 CD-ROMs. In some cases the natural range of the original instrument has been expanded, thereby creating instruments that are more playable than the original. These instruments have been meticulously recorded in studios, not in some village in Africa on a home recorder; consequently the recording quality and standard of programming is superior to all other ethnic collections. Producer Nick Phoenix also produced Quantum Leap Brass and Quantum Leap Guitar and Bass, so you know exactly what quality to expect from magesy download this collection. Quantum Leap Rare Instruments is the Rolls Royce of ethnic collections!

The “Larry Seyer Acoustic Drums” library consists of 169 .GIG files and over 1,380 GigaStudio Instrument (.GSI) kits, there are over 8330 different samples totaling over 7 gigabytes of material. There are also 13 new GigaPulse multi-placment rooms. Each of these rooms has 18 different player locations & can output your drum performance in either 2, 5 or 7 magesypro audio channels for stereo or surround use. Each of the 13 rooms is comprised of 126 unique impulses with a total of 1638 impulses in the GigaPulse native format. Additionally, Larry has also taken the time to include midi loops (1,444 to be exact) for use with this library. Unlike other “audio-loop” libraries your loops will not degrade with tempo changes and because these midi loops are triggering a deeply multi-sampled library. A simple wave of the “velocity wand” in your sequencer offers a very realistic human variation to these drum performances.

From the spiritual beat of Africa comes a sample library unlike any other. Atsia; includes African percussion instruments traditional to the Ewe Tribe of Ghana. The Ewe tribe is located in the Southeastern section of Ghana in the Volta region. Originally the songs and dances of the tribe were performed before war, but in modern times mostly for rituals and dance. “Atsia”, meaning “style” or “to display”, is a social dance considered by most to be one of the oldest styles of dance and music in West Africa. It is a collection of songs and dances created by the Ewes, used in rituals and recreation for hundreds of years.
