The Big Swing Grand for Kontakt 5 was designed to be the best, warmest, cleanest and most importantly, most playable piano sample available. Created by a pianist, “road tested” on gigs and sessions, much effort and many innovations went into this project. Weighing in at nearly 10GB of 24-bit samples (uncompressed) this is one of the most deeply-sampled piano libraries available.
The magnificent Steinway D, recorded in a concerthall for the true concert grand experience. Three different perspectives, Close, Ambient and Medium Ambiance gives you tree different instruments to choose from. Incredible 48 samples/note cut’s this sampled instrument in a class of it’s own. The “Close” perspective was recorded with the microphones placed very close to the strings. Normally, this isn’t the way you would record a classical piece, but you will find that this perspective gives you a great magesy torrent presence and brilliance. Try this version for an in-your-face pop or jazz sound, or for bold and aggressive features. Definitely reach for this version first on a live performance. It has the raw edge needed to cut through a pounding rhythm section, or to back up a powerful vocalist. The more live your playing space, the more likely that the Close Perspective instrument will work for you.
Welcome to Bowed Grand Piano – a library decided to deep sampling of bowed and FX based grand piano strings. The bowing of a piano is a delicate effort, since the instrument is not designed to be bowed. We developed a variety of new recording techniques that allowed us to get deep inside the piano and record a variety of bowings and FX that haven’t been covered in previous libraries. The library is more ambient then oue Plucked Grand Piano, since the concept of bowed piano tends to go in the more ambient/drony direction. We bowed every single string on a world class grand, including both sustains and staccato notes.

This version of our library was not ported from magesy download GS2, this is a totally reprogrammed from magesy download the ground up library, the addition of almost unlimited dimensions in GS3 permits now 32 transition velocities instead of the 16 in GS2, what this translates into for the users is much smoother transitions from magesy download one velocity to another specially in the softer velocities where special attention was given to ensure better response when playing very softly. Obviously 24 bits does sound better and will cut through a mix easier when mixed in with other instruments. As in the other version of the library you get 3 recorded perspectives, Ambient, Close Miked and Player Perspective in 12 recorded velocities (32 transition velocities) with Release Samples and Pedal Noises Fx.
After a lot of research and trial and error I have been able to bring the fantastic Splendid Grand Akai samples together into a collection of SoundFonts for use in SoundBlaster Live! cards as well as compatible softsynths (LiveSynth, VSampler, etc.) These samples are truly wonderful additions to anyone’s sound library as they provide a wide array of different high quality piano samples in various file sizes to fit into your production needs. Format sf2, 16bit, 44kHz. This piano was first offered as an Akia Format only. Then later, the company created a soundfont which is One of the largest banks (Grand 256meg) in the format SoundFont2 collection.
We have been working in collaboration with Lance Herring on this project. The AcademicGrand is a 1963 Steinway D concert grand which has seen countless recitals and concerts over the years where it served as the University of Arkansas’ primary concert instrument. The piano has been an inspiration to hundreds of students and visitors, and with being well-maintained and cared for, it’s a wonderful instrument with a unique history and classic American Steinway sound.

This library has been finely tuned to work with Reason’s NN-XT Sampler. Also included are 14 combinator presets that combine the NN-XT instruments with the effects. This beautiful Steinway Model L Grand piano was recorded at Whip Records in Berkeley, California. Using Neumann U67 microphones and high quality preamps, multiple layers were recorded at 24-bit resolution.Each sample was reviewed, and the best were assembled to create the Platinum Grand. As a result of this process, the samples are perfectly matched, sound great, and are free of artifacts. This natural sounding piano will work in any track mix.
The CIN series are made to be easy to use instrument that will inspire you, straight out of the box. No bells or whistles, just load them and play! The bells and whistles have already been applied, by us. The CIN-B is a hybrid. We took a Grand Piano and morphed in the attack part from magesy download a Harpsichord. since the Harpsichord works with plucked strings, and also has a bright, almost brittle timbre, the tone produced in the CIN-B is totally unique. We then layered the sound with a mellotron mixed choir, most prominent in the lower velocities, so when played softly, the choir part is more in front, but when you hit it harder, the choir just gives a slight dreamy mist over the tone.
