        My Piano is a warm upright piano sample library for NI’ Kontakt designed for cinematic soundtracks, intimate jazz and classical impressionist-like music. There are special and unique controls for different parts of the piano, for the internal resonances, pedal sound and there’s even a knob to put some random noises into the recording. The samples were taken with AudioTechnica AT4060 tube microphones, with NEVE preamps, to ensure the highest quality and warmth. The pedal resonances are handled separately, as well as the overtones and the body resonance of the piano, to allow the user to have a complete control over the piano sound.

          The Copperphone is a custom instrument (+2.000 samples) made from magesy download modified Copper pipes. The end-result is a 12 pipe instrument that sounds that sounds somewhere between pristine bells and metallic marimba of sorts. The Copperphone contains five core deep-sampled articulation types, which were made by playing the instrument with hard mallet, soft mallet, wooden mallet, muted notes and finger nails. The hard mallet, wooden and finger nails have the most pronounced attack – where the soft mallet has a more smooth and relaxed tone. The muted articulation is a non-sustained sample of the Copperphone. The Copperphone contains 32 of additional patches, which are partially modified versions of the core patches with filter control, delay, reverb, convolutions and so forth. You will also find 15 custom ambiences that were all 100% made with the Copperphone, so the ambiences blend completely with the Copperphone itself. All the core patches were deep-sampled extensively in several velocity layers and with 8 x round robin (repetition) pr. layer.

            The Tape Choir was a project to attempt to recreate the famous vocal choir pad sound from magesy download 10cc’s ‘I’m Not In Love’. This particular sound is notorious in music production circles, owning to the laborious lengths the producers took to create it : 3 male vocalists stood around a single valve mic, and each sang the same note in unison, holding it for as long as they were able. This strenuous process was repeated 16 times for each note (due to the limitations of a 16 track tape machine), then bounced down to a single track for each of the 13 notes in the chromatic scale. Each of these notes was a tape loop, and so was looping out of sync with every other notes, producing this ‘infinite’ choir sound, which could be controlled by the mixing desk, by fading up a single note per channel.
