There was a time when the echo effect was made using magnetic tapes, and among the many units that the industry brought to the market, one model shone above all: the Space Echo RE-201. This was by far one of the most used and still today is one of the most sought after tape echo units ever made. The new GS-201 Mark II is the evolution of a project we started back in 2008 with the release of the old version of GS-201. The purpose is to capture the magic of the Space Echo and make it available to all, right there, into the computer. Not an easy task, but the experience we gained during the last 10 years in audio DSP development has helped us reach a result that sometimes can fool even ourselves.

Magnus MK2 is a 2 stages brick-wall limiter with automatic output level and comprehensive metering, its purpose is to make your tracks the loudest possible. To achieve this the limiting process is divided in two steps each with separate oversampling options: the first is a clipper that can work like a hard digital clipper or a soft analog one. This stage lets you cut away those small peaks that nobody is going to hear and that will make the limiter work too hard and sound less transparent. The second stage is a brickwall limiter that will compress everything above 0dBFS. Simply use the two big knobs to increase the level until you are getting the right amount of gain reduction by any of the two stages.

SW34EQ MK2 is an equalizer coming straight from magesy download the 80s. It’s the digital version of the EQ found in an American console and it features the typical analog EQ sound and controls. This plugin is specifically modelled after one channel of this console used in the main room of Virus Studio, here in Siena, Italy. This EQ is very smooth and gentle, both in the EQ shapes (bells and shelves) and it’s almost perfect for general tone shaping, especially the low shelf gives weight to the sound without pumping it too much.

The RetroSound MK100 is a combined synth and drum machine based on the MK100 from magesy download the early 80s, lovingly recreated for NI’s Kontakt sampler. All synth presets can be customised with different waveforms and envelopes in exactly the same way as the hardware, together with the chorus and tremolo effects. In addition we have the ability to bring Kontakt’s synth engine to bear on the source sounds, so each of the two synth layers can have it’s own independent filter and envelope settings. All the preset drum patterns and fills are present, as is the Custom Drummer. The drum voices aren’t just limited to the straight preset sounds on the hardware, but can be modified in a number ways – and in addition to the real-time pattern recording from magesy download the original, a full graphic step editor lets you edit your patterns, as well as full MIDI keyboard driven operation for real-time jamming and creative sessions.
