            Analog Model Polyphonic Synthesizer

Poly-Ana is finally here! Get ready for a new experience in virtual analog synthesis! Poly-Ana uses a different approach than most other VA soft-synths which we feel delivers a sound more authentic to the early analog synths that inspired her features. This “brute-force” method admittedly requires more processing power than other common techniques, but is a far truer model of the functioning of real analog instruments. If you obsess over the quality of your sound like we do then you won’t mind using a bit more CPU power to help get you closer to that real analog sound; a sound that so many other VA synths fall too-far short of.

The Model 7 grand piano was sampled from magesy download a Yamaha C7 grand coda piano. Our first idea was to sample a CFIII, but when we went to the rental-house we totally fell in love with this one and chose it. This particular piano has been in constant use since the ’80s in two highly praised concert halls in Torino (Italy) and has been played by artists like Michel Petrucciani and Chick Corea along the years. This piano is under constant maintenance by highly-skilled italian technicians. We sampled this little-big monster of a piano in a medium-size hall surrounded by a smorgasbord of microphones.

The history of the organ in the church of Forcalquier is very turbulent and only a part of the material remained from magesy download the baroque period, from magesy download the original organ. Most of it comes from magesy download a 19th and 20th century restorations. The cathedral in a small and picturesque French city called Forcalquier had a small organ with 9 stops built by Pierre Marchand in 1627. It is said that during the time of the Revolution, the church and the organ served for the embellishments of the feasts of the new regime. In 1803, the Christian worship was restored in the church. Half a century later, Prosper Antoine Moitessier rebuilt the organ completely, reusing also the ancient material. The Grand orgue had now 22 stops, a Récit expressif (enclosed in a swell-box) and Pedal with 4 stops. The organbuilders Cavaillé-Coll – Mutin made further reconstruction in 1932. They extended the pedal board range and changed the action to the pneumatic one.

Two manual cembalo was built after the 1624 Johannes Ruckers model, which is kept in Musée Unterlinden (formerly belonged to the family de Sade and was kept at the Chateau de Conde, Condé-en-Brie). The Flemish cembalo is solid in construction, colorful in tone with a rich resonance. The Flemish makers were apparently the first to build two-manual harpsichords after 1600. The workshop of Ruckers is credited to build probably the most perfect harpsichords ever and it sets the benchmark for harpsichordists and harpsichord makers even today.

Sound unique with Thales Model I, the only plugin that recreates the sound of early software synthesizers of the sixties. You heard it right, all the way through the sixties Bell’s laboratories developed software synthesizers that were capable of producing an early form of sound synthesis: raw sawtooths, unstable organ like tones, almost clean sine waves and abstract soundscapes of white noise. With Thales Model I, you’ll be able to play with the tones generated by early sixties computers! Thales Model I features the tones generated by early sixties computer. The sounds have been sourced in public domain films, which means that they are not clean: tape noises and background hisses are part of the sound of this very special rompler. Because of this, Thales Model I’s sound is reminiscent of the Mellotron and other tape based keyboards of the sixties.
