We’ve sampled amazing, expensive, state-of-the-art machines like the Emulator II and the Roland Jupiter 6, but sometimes what a track calls for is something a little more basic, a little more humble in its origins. Think soundtrack to Napoleon Dynamite. Think home keyboard. Think cheese. Think Casiotone. Orgatone 601 is a loving and not at all post-modern-ironic version of the godfather of Casio’s home keyboard range, the Casiotone 601. This was a surprisingly big instrument, with full-sized keys, inbuilt rhythms, and onboard speaker (of course!) and a touch-sensitive nudge-bar that you could use to trigger the rhythm fills. This relied on skin to make it function, and was situated on the left-hand front edge of the keyboard, so if you wanted a fill-in rhythm pattern while playing with both hands you really needed to be wearing shorts and hit it with your knee, but… whatever. It sounded neat, kinda.

Expressive Hammand L100 with Leslie
The organ used for this project is a Hammond L100 with a great magesy torrent Leslie. For a full sound the keyboard was sampled with all the bars at maximum level and the microphones not to close to the cabinet to get some air into the sound. Both speeds of the Leslie were recorded. You can almost smell the engines at work…

Vintage Swedish Organ
Reed Organ is a M-S Stereo 24 bit – 96KHz recording of an old swedish reed organ by J.Eriksson. Actually, it was the brand of choice for the Swedish king Oscar II. It was carefully restored and recorded note by note. The aim here was to capture the sound of old times; organic breathing tones and noises that fit well in film music, indie etc. Please note that the pedal noise is always present in the sound as the organ needs air to produce sound from magesy download the pipes. It works almost like an accordion.

St. Imre of Pusztaszabolcs, was restored in 2002 and it is the largest preserved baroqe organ in Hungary. The virtual Pusztaszabolcs pipe organ financially supports the original instrument.
