This collection of sounds is generated using vintage synthesizers, live orchestral recordings and complex offline digital signal processing platforms such as Kyma, Csound and CDP. It is the first in a collection of lush, cinematic textures for film composition, electronic music and anything that requires, expensive, expansive textures and ambient sound beds. This collection exclusively explores granular and molecular, complex sound treatments. Many of the textures can be used as full compositions in themselves. Some are 2-3 minutes long with dynamic, shifting morphing, deeply layered granular timbres and textures. The way I use these in my own work are : 1. As an inspiration for a new composition. Grab a handful of textures in say F#, pull them into your DAW, crossfade, layer, fade in and out, eq to taste (many are full spectrum so if your using more than one, best to high pass filter all but one), add reverbs and panning and you have the basis of a full composition.

Calling on the spirit of 1960s folk-revival protest music, 1970s-era outlaw country, and the deep-rooted influences of early American music, Magesy® Originals: Cosmic Americana captures a psychedelic and pop take on country music. With psychedelic, indie-folk, R&B, and lo-fi elements, these sounds are primed for cross-pollination with pop, hip hop, and electronic genres. Top players came together in Nashville to carefully record vintage instruments, collaborating with artists at various locations across the U.S. Producer, multi-instrumentalist, and sound designer, Ben Bromley produced this pack. He is the co-founder of NewVillager and has been a touring member of Santigold, Phosphorescent, and Fischerspooner. Other musicians who contributed to this pack include Will MacClean (Nashville, TN), Sam Kearney (Denver, CO), Travis Linville (Tulsa, OK), and Austin Beede (Santa Ynez, CA). Type A is a plugin inspired by a famous vintage tape encoder. The original unit was designed to be a noise reduction system for tape recording (encode stage) and playback (decode stage). Type A emulates the encode stage, which was often misused as an enhancer, dynamically increasing the top end of a signal without introducing artefacts or altering the harmonic content. The results are similar to a dynamic EQ which adds presence and air to any track in a natural way.
