      flower (フラワ) is a Japanese VOCALOID developed and distributed by the YAMAHA Corporation, and was created in collaboration with HoneyWorks. She was updated to the VOCALOID4 engine in July 2015. flower’s V4 design was originally used by the artist, Miwasiba, in July 2014. The appearance was originally done as fanart by the artist and was a “shota” version of flower. The official flower twitter account noted that the new VOCALOID4 design was the “short haired” version of flower, while the original VOCALOID3 version was the “long haired” version of the same character.

        SF-A2 codename miki (SF-A2 開発コード miki), is a Japanese VOCALOID, and was initially released in December 2009 for the VOCALOID2 engine. There is currently ongoing development towards an upgrade to the VOCALOID4 engine. Her voice is provided by the Japanese female singer, Miki Furukawa (フルカワミキ / 古川 美季; Furukawa Miki). On May 14th, 2015, AH-Software confirmed that miki would only have a Natural voicebank and would release on June 18th, 2015. It is possible to buy her Natural voicebank, but there was also information about a starter pack. Other details such as tempo, range, the prices for her packages were also revealed. It was also shown that miki V4 has an official MMD model by KIO.

          INTERNET Co. wanted to utilize the voice of a singer for the creation of a VOCALOID but felt it would be difficult to get a singer to agree. They consulted Dwango Co.,Ltd. who managed Nico Nico Douga, and Dwango suggested Gackt (神威 楽斗 Camui Gackt, now known as GACKT), a singer and actor, as he had previously provided his voice for Dwango’s cell phone services.He lent his voice and named the VOCALOID Gackpoid. On December 1st, 2014, when asked about VOCALOID4 updates, Noboru responded that they wished to update all of their VOCALOID3s to the new engine but had no specific schedule at the time. On March 31st, 2015, Gackpo was announced to have a VOCALOID4 update. This update contains his 3 voicebanks from magesy download the VOCALOID3 engine, but with added growl samples. It was confirmed that he would be released on April 30th, 2015.

              Megurine Luka (巡音ルカ), codenamed CV03, is a Japanese VOCALOID.                 Silhouettes for Yuzuki Yukari, along with the other VOCALOIDs by AH-Software, were revealed on a poster on November 6th, 2014, however, at the time, it was unconfirmed what they were for. On November 20th, it was confirmed in the livestream for VOCALOID4 that they all, with the exception of Tohoku Zunko, will be receiving VOCALOID4 voicebanks. Yukari was specifically announced to be receiving an “Onn” voicebank as well as her original voicebank. This new voicebank is intended to sound calmer than her original, similar to the “Whisper” and “Soft” voicebanks produced by other companies.

                    On November 20th, 2014, VOCALOID4 was officially announced through a livestream and some companies appeared announcing their upcoming updated VOCALOIDs. VY1v4 was one of these upcoming VOCALOIDs for the new engine. Its voicebank was used to showcase the new features and capabilities of the VOCALOID4 engine. It was revealed that VY1v4 also contained four voicebanks: Normal, Power, Natural, and Soft. VOCALOID4 and VY1v4 became available on December 17th, 2014, making it the first vocal to be released for the engine. Shortly prior to VY1v4’s release, the YouTube demo uploads of iNSaNiTY and COSMONAUTS were set to private due to YAMAHA’s request. They were once again made public after VY1v4 released.
