The DX7 and FM synthesis – in their days – opened up a new horizon. Together with subtractive synthesis and sampling technology, FM was the most important development in synthesizer history. Neither VCO nor VCA that came with analogue machines provided comparable results. In 1983 when everyone seemed to own a Yamaha DX7, Frequency Modulation, as a concept, was the next step, redefined what a synthesizer could sound like, redefined the whole synthesizer market.

With over 620 MB of sample data Wall of Sounds Vol. 6 – SUPER STRINGS is a big collection of string samples for E-mu samplers. Using the multi-layer feature and the morph filters of the E-MU EIV Kurt Ader the sound designer created superior real orchestra strings in stereo (351MB) and mono (124MB) in best quality. Their exuberance and precision make it difficult to find out, they are not played by strings the time you press your keys. The classical orchestra is your E-mu sampler.
