OCD DSP has released OCS (aka Obsessive Compulsive Saturation), a freeware console saturation effect in VST plugin format for Windows.
OCS is a saturation unit inspired by the analogue behavior. It can be used as a console saturation unit but it can have a more sporadic approach as well.
Obsessive Compulsive Saturation is available for free download via OCD DSP (3.8 MB download size, 7Zip archive, contains 1 audio effect in VST plugin format for Windows).
The effect was developed with FlowStone by DSP Robotics, which means that there probably won’t be a Mac release anytime soon. This doesn’t seem like a generic FlowStone project though, my guess is that Fabian Prezja (the developer) has coded some custom building blocks for this plugin.
OCS is a simple saturation effect with 4 saturation models and Input/Output level controls. It could work as a simple channel saturation unit which works without much fuss. I’ll be testing this one.
