A Free Commodore 64 Virtual Synthesizer
ODO has released Dream64, a great magesy torrent little freeware Commodore 64 virtual synthesizer in VSTi plugin format for Windows.
Soo Here is my 10000s c64 synth. Hope you like it Im now working on v2 with a lot of changes and YES YES a bigger GUI!
Dream64 is available for free download via KVR Audio (1.4 MB download size, RAR archive, contains 1 instrument in VST plugin format for Windows).
What’s cool about this plugin is that it comes with a built-in wavetable editor. This means that you can get really close to recreating some iconic SID chip sounds, such as arps and those blippy PWM leads.
This is ODO’s first release in quite a long while. I’m glad to see he’s back! He’s been known for good chiputne synths, FM synts, virtual drum machines, all of which were released as freeware. You can still download most of his previous releases at The ODOsynths archive.
If you’re looking for some authentic SID chip sounds for free, check out Commodore 64 Synthesizer Sessions DELUXE, which was developed by Rhythmic Robot and BPB! It contains real SID chip audio samples, with SFZ and Kontakt mappings.
